Reforming government isn’t always popular and it isn’t always easy, but most things that are worth doing aren’t. Jeff led a bipartisan effort to reduce the number of politicians on the County Board, and voted to eliminate taxpayer-funded pensions and insurance for County Board members, saving taxpayer resources and reducing unnecessary bureaucracy.
He helped pass a tough new package of ethics laws that included an anti-nepotism provision. We need more reformers like Jeff in Springfield to begin to repair our state’s reputation, saving taxpayer money and attracting new investments that create jobs and economic opportunity.
